Date: 13.03.2001 Author: Photo by Oleg Lastochkin Text: March 13, 2001. 90 years ago, Moscow launched the famous tram-line A, also known as Annushka, which appeared in books by Mikhail Bulgakov, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Konstantin Paustovsky,
Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov. Initially, its route was one of the
longest in the Russian capital, and was often referred to as the "theatrical route" since it ran by several theatres and famous cinema houses like the Union, located near Nikitskie Vorota, Khudozhestvenny in Arbatskaya Ploshchad, Avrora near Pokrovskie Vorota, and Kolizei on Chistoprudny Bulvar. To this day, Annushka still runs along the Garden Ring. Photo by Oleg
